Father's Day, coming in the shadow of mother's day, graduation, and Ramadan, is often forgotten. For many of us, our dads can be our sources of lifelong support, love, and lessons.
In celebration of Father’s Day, I decided to just bless your feeds with a million Diari and Daddy pictures. Mind you, it is almost impossible to get good shots of daddy, but he’s definitely the more celebrated parent lol. It’s funny because growing up, I was such a daddy’s girl. My dad knew everything, he could do no wrong, and he was the coolest man in the world. Well, now, Diari has the same obsession with her father and even though I am secretly a little bitter, I can’t be more grateful that she has such a strong bond with her dad.
It wasn’t until I got older that I realized the importance of my daddy-daughter relationship. It shaped so much of who I am today. The strength and strong will that I have are inspired by my dad’s constant reminders of how great I am. Diari waits by the door for her daddy to come home from work, she used to call any tall man “daddy,” and she is constantly running to her dad in times of trouble. He loves her and she knows it. Yes, he spoils her, but he also teaches her all of the wonderful lessons my dad taught me.
Happy Father’s Day!
To all the fathers who can and do stick around, Happy Father’s Day. To the fathers that provide support and love, Happy Father’s Day. To Diari’s hero and all the hero fathers of the world, Happy Father’s Day!
